Various home remedies for acidity or Hyperacidity are:
- Smoking clove will provide relief in acidity.
- The consumption of milk and dairy products will also be beneficial e.g. Yogurt.
- Also intake of fresh mint juice is also beneficial in acidity.
- Fruits as banana and watermelon help to reduce down acidity.
- Cucumber is also very beneficial.
- Herbal tea made up of Pudina (Spearmint) and Mulethi (Liquorice) is also beneficial rather than consuming normal tea and coffee. Also intake of tea and coffee should be reduced down as much as possible.
- One can also benefit by consuming boiled cumin leaves in water and drinking it with meals.
- Also consuming Jaggery or gurh after meals shall prevent the excessive acid formation.
- One must go to bed at least 2 hours after your dinner.
- Also drinking coconut water around 3 to 4 times a day is beneficial.
- Ginger is a well know spice for various gastrointestinal complaints and should be regularly consumed with meals.

- Squeeze an orange to take out its juice and mix it with roasted cumin seeds and then add rock salt or Kala namak as per your taste for immediate relief from acidity.
- Mix one tablespoon of Amla and one tablespoon of Haritaki and consume to get relief from acidity or hyperacidity.
- Cut lemon in strips and dip in salt eating it before meals shall benefit in heartburn and acidity.
- One can also make a fine powder of following contents as ginger, black pepper, dried mint leaves, Hingh (Asafetida), coriander seeds, cumin, fennel and common salt all taken equally. Take this mixture one teaspoonful with water twice a day after meals.
- Also one can consume a mixture of two teaspoons of apple Cider Vinegar and two teaspoons of honey in a glass of water before meals and will be helpful in reducing down acidity, hyperacidity or heartburns.
