Problems or complications during menstrual cycles in women are referred to as Menorrhagia. There may be painful menstruation and excessive bleeding that may continue for prolonged period. Due to excessive blood flow, there is physical weakness, tiredness, exhaustion, anaemia and such other health issues. In simple words, abnormalities in menstrual cycles are referred to as menorrhagia.
Chief factors responsible for Menorrhagia
Menorrhgia may be caused due to-
- Hormonal imbalance
- Swelling in the uterus
- Inflammatory conditions relevant to vagina and cervix
- Use of birth control pills and intra uterine devices
- Use of blood thinning remedies in some cases
