Rheumatoid arthritis may be referred to as chronic inflammation associated with one’s small joints in the hands or the feet. Painful swelling resulting in bone erosion and joint distortion are the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.
Use of NSAIDs, i.e. nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs is usually recommended by the doctors. Disease-modifying anitrheumatic drugs also give sufficient relief. Surgery may be needed in certain cases. Assistive devices, few exercises and yoga asana are also good for this disease. It can be cured well with application of hot or cold compressions. Those challenged with this disease are advised to make use of fish or plant oil. Tai chi is also advantageous. Patients should remain away from alcohol, junk foods and tobacco but must stick to healthy diets.
